Individual therapy, offers a very specific type of emotional support. The therapist and the client form a unique relationship, where the needs of the client are privileged. This means that all the interactions, from the therapist are aimed at benefiting the client. At times, psychotherapist might offer an explanation of an emotional process. The most important however is the nurturing of clients' self-esteem through various therapeutic techniques and the relationship itself. In time, the client shall have a bigger understanding of their situation, and a new found creativity for dealing with problems as well as a compassionate relationship with themselves.
